How can I save images in StViewer with a specified bit depth (8bits, 10bits, 12bits)?
By default, images are saved in 8bits format. To save images in 10bits or 12bits, you need to change the image format settings.
StViewer allows saving as either:
Registered Image – the raw image received from the camera.
Preview Image – the image displayed in StViewer according to the Destination Pixel Format.
Note: Using the save icon in the upper left corner always saves the Preview Image.
When saving in 10bits or 12bits, ensure that your application supports 10bits/12bits image data.
Monochrome
Default: saved as Mono8 (8bits).
To change the bit depth:
Stop image acquisition.
Go to Remote Device -> Image Format Control.
Select the desired pixel format under Pixel Format.
Restart image acquisition.
Right-click on the image -> Save -> Registered Image, choose the file format, and save.
Mono10 and Mono12 formats are supported for bitmap output, so you can save directly as 10bits/12bits bitmap files in StViewer.
Color
Default: saved as BGRa8 (8bits).
To save in 8bits:
Start image acquisition.
Right-click on the image -> Save -> Preview Image, choose the file format, and save.
To save in 10bits or 12bits (e.g., BayerRG10, BayerRG12):
Stop image acquisition.
Go to Remote Device -> Image Format Control.
Select the desired pixel format under Pixel Format.
Restart image acquisition.
Right-click on the image -> Save -> Registered Image, choose the file format, and save.
When saving 10bits or 12bits image data, please select Registered Image.
Saving is only supported in CSV data or .straw data formats.
For converting .straw data, please refer to the sample program SaveAndLoadImage.
