StViewer

Only some part of image is displaying on StViewer.

When starting StViewr, original image (x1 magnification image) is displaying and only some part of image is displaying with some camera.
It is necessary to use zoom function of StViewer to display whole image. Selects resize magnification to display whole image.

Selects resize magnification to display whole image with following procedure:
1. Right click on acquisition image then selects “Fixed Zoom” under “Zoom”.
2. “1/8”, “1/4” and “1/2” resize magnification are selectable.

How can I resize acquisition image with StViewer?

The image can resize with zoom function of StViewer.
Only displaying image resize with zoom function and save image is original none resize image.

The displaying image can be resized with following procedure:
1. Right click on acquisition image then selects “Fixed Zoom” under “Zoom”.

What is unit for shutter speed (exposure time) that change with StViewer?

The unit for shutter speed (exposure time) is us (microsecond).

The greenish image is acquired with USB/GigE Vision camera.

USB/GigE Vision cameras use Bayer CMOS image sensor.
The greenish image is acquired when selecting “OFF” at white balance or white balance settings are not appropriate.

Please adjusts white balance by following procedure:
The following is white balance adjustment procedure with StViewer (for USB3 Vision and GigE Vision)
1. Selects “Once” or “Continuous” at “Balance White Auto” under “AnalogControl” under “RemoteDevice” after stop image acquisition.
“Once”: White balance adjust automatically once
“Continuous”: White balance adjust continuously

The following is white balance adjustment procedure with StCamSWare (for USB3.0 and USB2.0)
1. Selects “Setting” under “Option” in menu of StCamSWare, then selects “Advanced” button on setting window.
2. Selects “WhiteBalance” Tab then selects one of “Manual”, “FullAuto” and “OneShot”.
“Manual”: White balance adjust manually
“FullAuto”: Whita balance adjust continuously
“OneShot”: White balance adjust automatically once

The camera settings did not save when saving camera settings to UserSet by using StViewer.

The camera settings on “Romote Device” are UserSet save settings.
The camera settings on other than “Remote Device” do not save to UserSet.

The camera settings on other than “Remote Device” need to set/select when it is necessary, or
it is necessary to make software with Sentech SDK, to save settings.

Can I use drawing function with StViewer?

The drawing function can be use with v1.1.1 or later version of StViewer.
*v1.0.8 or older version of StViewer does not support drawing function.

The drawing menu is display when selecting “Drawing” under “Tools and Docking Windows” under “View” on menu of StViewer.

How can I save the image with drawing data by using StViewer?

Sets “True” at “Enable Drawing On Saving Image” under “Drawing Tool” under “ImageDisplayWnd”.

The image with drawing data can be save when image saving by selecting “PreviewImage” after right click on preview image.
The image with drawing data cannot be save when image saving by using file menu or save botton on tool bar on StViewer, and movie file.

How can I make movie on StViewer?

Please follow below steps:
1. Selects “Start Recording” under “File” on menu.
2. Please specifies below settings, sets file name after select “Add” then select “OK”.
3. Please check movie file is making after acquire image.

File Format AVI1 → Maximum file size: 2GB
AVI2 → Maximum file size: 1TB
Compression Motion JPEG
Uncompressed
Quality Value Quality setting for Motion JPEG (100 is best quality)
Reserve Y Vertical flip image
Frame Rate Frame rate setting for play movie
Maximum Frame Count Per File Maximum Frame Count Per File

 
Please refers settings for time unit.
Example: 5 minutes movie with 30 fps image

File Format AVI1
Compression MPEG
Quality Value 50
Reserve Y False
Frame Rate 30
Maximum Frame Count Per File 9,000

Time of movie calculates by “Maximum Frame Count Per File / Frame Rate”.

How can I confirm camera name and firmware version on StViewer?

Please follow below step:
Camera name:
Checks “DeviceDisplayName” under “DeviceInforamtion” under “LocalDevice”.

Device version (firmware version):
Checks “DeviceVersion” under “DeviceInformation” under “LocalDevice”.
* GigE Vision camera includes FPGA verison.

How can I set exposure time on StViewer?

The camera has two exposure modes
OFF: Exposure time is “1 / frame rate setting (second)”, which is longest exposure time to maintain set frame rate.
The exposure time is changed based on frame rate.
Timed: Exposure time specifies by exposure time setting.
Please uses “Timed” exposure mode to specify exposure time manually.

The exposure time can be set by below step.
Exposure time sets manually:
1. Selects “Timed” at “ExposureMode” under “AcquisitionControl” under “RemoteDevice”.
2. Sets exposure time at “ExposureTime” under AcquisitionControl” under “RemoteDevice”.

Exposure time specifies by frame rate (exposure time is “1 / frame rate (second)”):
1. Selects “OFF” at “ExposureMode” under “AcquisitionControl” under “RemoteDevice”.
